One of the things I love most about going to Disney World is that I never feel like a second-class citizen with a food allergy. That’s why I was a little disappointed to see that the options during the festivals in 2020 we’re pretty limited for those of us with food issues.

In years past therapy and many options clearly marked with a gluten-free label in both the festival pamphlets as well as the signage outside of the booths.
This year, for the holiday festival in Epcot they were really only two clearly labeled choices and there was nothing clearly labeled for someone with a gluten allergy and someone who was a vegetarian.
Both of the gluten-free options listed on the information from Disney we’re meat-based and appear at the Mexican booth. The PLATE ONE and PLATE TWO are available and labeled.

We did go to a couple of booths, One inside the festival show place and another in France to ask if any of the meals could be altered to be gluten safe. In both situations the individual we talk to seemed extremely unsure and told us they could not accommodate any sort of food allergies. And either location did they offer to take out the supposed book that they’re supposed to have at the booths that outline nutritional information. To be honest, as somebody with a pretty severe celiac issue I wouldn’t feel comfortable even if they had suddenly decided they could accommodate considering the fact that they did not seem prepared.
It seems like even if the individuals at the booths are not going to be able to accommodate, they should be properly trained to handle food allergy questions. Someone who seems unsure or afraid does not instill confidence in someone who will get very ill if they eat the wrong thing.
There was a number of drink options that were deemed safe and I did very much enjoy, but if you are someone who suffers from a food allergy the fossil booths are probably not worth it for you this year. Well my boyfriend Ken took part in a couple of things from the different booths, I decided to stick with my staple at regal eagle which is the vegetarian burger with the jackfruit barbecue on a gluten-free bun.
